An examination of plant diversity in western Canada with a focus on the relationships between structure and function of boreal forest plants of northern Alberta. Identification skills gained in this course will rely on the integration of information from the field, lecture and laboratory in plant taxonomy, plant anatomy, plant morphology, plant physiology, ethanobotany and plant ecology. Each student is required to assemble a plant collection of approximately 100 specimens.
